1. I learned a new technique using plaster when I made this lidded vessel.  I had to make a wire shape and cover it in plaster to get the shape right.

2. I think I did gain some skill in using plaster.

Artists Take Risks

1. I did try something that I was unsure about in this project.  I haven't used plaster that much and I was concerned about how I would be able to make the lid out of plaster.

2. I picked plaster over clay which I'm not as familiar with.  I've only used plaster once and I thought it would be cool to make a lidded vessel out of that instead of clay.

Jessica Harrison

Jessica Harrison makes porcelain women with tattoos on them.  She is from Scotland and recently completed practice-led PhD funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.  What drew me to this artist was the craftsmanship of the women and the tattoos.  I've never really seen any kind of art like that and it was more interesting and I could relate to it more than any of the others.

Artists Communicate through their Work

1.This artwork is intended to tell the story of Elsa in the movie Frozen and how she has to conceal and not feel for her powers to not show.

2. The issue in this project is how Elsa can never really show how she feels because she will cause an eternal winter on Airendale.

3. This artwork shows what I like because I love the movie Frozen.

Artists solve Problems

1. I responded to the problems that occurred by fixing them and finding a solution.  For example, my hand was stuck inside the plaster mold and I had to cut it farther up the hand than I expected and by the end I just added a little more plaster and it turned out fine.

2. I did change my plans a little bit.  I had originally planned on cutting out snowflakes and gluing them to poster board but it was taking forever so I just cut out the snowflakes and poked them through the wire.

1. I thought of the idea to do these glasses because of the disguise subject.  I thought of glasses when I heard disguise so then I thought I could use the trash bags as lens and make the rest out of cardboard.

2.The source of my inspiration was the different topics used for this project.

1.I learned techniques on how to cut cardboard and use hot glue while making this project.

2.I was fairly familiar with trash bags but I didn't really learn any new skills because all I did was cut it into shapes.

Relief

1.This artwork is intended just to describe one of my favorite bands.

2.The issues I had with this piece was painting in between the letters once I was done and getting the "and" symbol to look right.

3.This artwork is about the kind of music I like and I tried to make it prove that music can really help you.

1.I didn't really try something that I wasn't sure of but I've never done a project about bands before.

2.Clay isn't new material to me but it is one of my least favorite materials to use.
